Each den meets during our regular Tuesday pack meetings and sometimes has separate den-specific activities as well.
In Pack 244 dens are age/grade-appropriate cohorts of scouts that are often led by an immediate parent or guardian volunteer. Often, parents/guardians will move along with scouts to lead the next den. Sometimes leaders will stay consistently in the same den. In other words, it's like a big family!
We focus on interactive activities designed to be fun for children while teaching them about perseverance and developing their problem-solving abilities. In Cub Scouts, there are opportunities to spend time as a family and to do things that help build upon the Scout Oath and Scout Law.
Yes! There are so many ways to help and support the pack. This can range from helping, volunteering and even leading! As a member of the pack, all participants are expected to take an active role in some format whether that looks like joining your scout in an activity or volunteering as a den leader! Pack 244 makes two camping trips per academic year. Both trips coincide with local school breaks (Fall and Spring) as much as possible, but does not always perfectly align for every school. Parents/Guardians are required to attend with their scout and supervise their scout. All scouting rules are strictly enforced for the safety of all Pack 244 members.
Learn more about Camping with Pack 244 here. A list of suggested personal supplies are listed on this page. The pack will provide most meals and cooking supplies. Scouting attendees should plan to provide their own tent, sleeping bags, and personal supplies.

Between weekly den leader meetings and monthly summer meetings, Pack 244 stays busy! Den leaders will guide the completion of activities that satisfy Scouting Awards & Advancements throughout the year. Parents may also enter other activities through Scoutbook as they are achieved. Multiple awards ceremonies take place throughout the year, but usually around the end of the current year and again at the end of the academic year. Summer activities provide opportunities to reconnect and are presented as a large-group activity. Scouts have the opportunity to participate in additional large-group activities throughout the year such as the Pinewood Derby, the Raingutter Regatta, and camping trips.
While weekly meets are not a requirement to move through adventures, scouts are strongly encouraged to attend as many as possible. Den Leaders cannot guarantee a scouts' full awards and advancements to be provided if the scout does not attend every meeting. However, den leaders can work directly with families to provide guidance to complete activities at home or organize to complete activities on another day. Communication is essential to successfully achieving awards and advancements.
